These instructions are for setting the "Modem" Control Panel. This Control Panel is only present in Mac O/S 8. If you are using an earlier version of the Mac O/S, you will not need to do this. If you are not using Open Transport PPP (ie using ConfigPPP or Free PPP) to connect this doesn't matter either.
Select the "Modem" Control Panel from the Apple Menu
in the top left hand side of your screen.

Set the "Connect via" to the port with your modem connected. Select your modem from the "Modem" pop up list.
If your modem is not shown in this list, you need to add the modem scripts, which should have been included with your modem if you purchased it recently, to the Modem Scripts folder in the Extensions folder in the system folder.
If you dont have the scripts for your modem, you can usually get them from the Website of the manafacturer or your Apple Reseller. If these sources cant supply the scripts, please mail help@scoastnet.com.au and we will do our best to assist you.
