Dialup Setup for the Apple Internet Kit
Important Note
When asked, DO NOT enter any Credit Card information. This request for credit card information is not related to Scoastnet and is for an American system used by Apple to help select a service provider.
Following initial Apple Internet Dialer Installation,
Firstly, upon first opening the Apple Internet Dialer icon, you'll need to proceed through to the second of the first windows (stop at the Credit Card window), then Cancel & Quit the Apple Internet Dialer.
Setting up the Provider Information
Having Quit the Dialer as above, now re-launch the Dialer
Select the Provider button/menu option and select Define Provider Info & click Next.
Set each field as follows:

Click Next.
Setting the Server Information
Set each field as follows:

Click Next.
Connection Script
This step is not required if you are setting up to connect to the digital line on 62401000 with a server assigned IP address
Set each field as follows:
NOTE: If you get the message "You must enter a value for first name" then click Ok and Cancel the window, Quit the Dialer and then Relaunch the Dialer. The name values will be correctly reread and loaded by the Dialer when you relaunch it.
Click Ok.

Connect to Scoastnet window now appears on screen
Following the previous Setup Step, you should now have on your screen a Connect to Scoastnet window, where you can select Dial Phone to connect to Scoastnet. If a Username or Password is requested, please enter the ones supplied to you by Scoastnet .

To Logoff or Disconnect and end your Internet session, locate the Apple Internet Status window or icon and click Hangup.
Using Internet Config to Check & Correct Default/Installed Settings.
Launch the Internet Config icon or use Find File to locate the Internet Config program.
As of May 1997, the only known/observed incorrect default setting is corrected as below:

Click on Email. Set Email Account field to Your Email Address (<Email Username>@Scoastnet.com.au)
Close Internet Config & Save Settings when prompted.
Claris Emailer
Launch the Claris Emailer icon (or use Find again) and select Mail menu, Connect Now option to retrieve your Scoastnet Mailbox. Supply your Email Password if prompted.
