Scoastnet Mac TCP Setup Guide
(for machines NOT using Open Transport)

Launch the Mac TCP Control Panel

Locate and run the "Mac TCP" Control Panel from the Control Panels under the Apple Menu .

Select PPP then press the more button.

Ensure that the "PPP" or "FreePPP" or "MacPPP" Extension is available and selected/highlighted in the first field of the TCP/IP Control Panel window.

Note: If PPP Extension is not listed in TCP/IP window, then reinstall MacPPP or FreePPP and/or check that there is a PPP System Extension (or similar named) in the Extensions folder in the System folder.

Configure TCP/IP using PPP Server

Set as shown

 

Press the OK button and then close the MacTCP window. You will get a message about restarting the machine. After restart launch Config PPP or PPP Control Panel and Open Internet Connection

Locate and run the "Config PPP" or PPP Control Panel from the Control Panels under the Apple menu and select the Open button to start a Dialup Internet session for your Mac through Scoastnet.

Please take note of any reported error messages and check all settings upon errors in the modem connection.
